Summer of Spreading: Urban Boys Camp Reflections by Jordan

From "Counselor A":

"It was a joy for me to give them the truth our ourselves and then share the gospel and to see the LORD hit them with [His] truth. Also, the pleasure of driving to camp with one camper and talking, then with soft music playing, watch a little boy fall asleep in a quiet comfortable environment. I guess it really made me look forward to pouring in to my own son."

From "Counselor B":

"After one look at the pictures of UBC, my heart sinks and jumps back into the memories of the action. My heart screams, "I love these Boys". We ran, jumped, wrestled, tackled, and most importantly, we sought God. The main sessions were titled "Right view of God, Self, Sin, and Salvation." We pressed the boys to know God. John 17:3, "This is eternal life that they may know You the only true God and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.""
"I am moved again by the reality, we need a Savior. I am in desperate need of Christ daily. I must open God's word daily and rehearse the Gospel, or I die. These inner-city youth must have Jesus. No advance in behavior, or manners or church attendance will save these boys from the wrath of God. Only Jesus. Only in Jesus can our sins be forgiven, can we have peace with God, can we have all our desires satisfied."
"To look into the eyes of a young inner-city boy and say, "I love you, and I want you to know God more than anything," was the joy of UBC. Everything we did was intentional to point them one direction, Christ Jesus. God was among us, and we had much favor with the boys. One simple way we could tell was the degree of questions during Q&A and session times. The questions evolved from very basic mythological type questions at the beginning, to sin and the cross and why Christ was the one who had to die by the end."
"God must change these children, and I pray He does, and that the result is will be that, "many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord" in this city and among the nations and in the homes these boys came from. My heart longs to be back in a cabin preaching and teaching Christ with these and many more from our city, so that they may know God, not like the world, but like children of the Most High. Like children who have been "rescued from the domain of darkness and transferred into the Kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."
"These boys can be broken down, but it is the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that will break them down and build them up for eternity. Pray."
