Why Not the Whole Thing? by Jordan

Syllogisms are arguments that lead to obvious conclusions. They work like this: If "A" is true, and "B" is true, then "C" must be true.

Would this syllogism hold up for every Christian?

A. Because you love Jesus, you do not want to sin.

B. The treasuring of God's Word in your heart is a divinely-granted deterrent to sinning against Him.

C. Therefore, your goal is to memorize the entire bible, right?

The goal is lofty, to be certain. Setting the bar this high will likely lead to treasuring more of God's Word in your heart than if your goal is, well... anything less. If your goal is anything less than memorizing the entire bible, why? Which verse(s) are you working on today?
