"The Excellency of Christ" - A Gift to Grace Church from Yesteryear
The Excellency of Christ

Having considered several worthy options, the elders have agreed that this year's Christmas sermon from yesteryear will once again come from the pulpit of Jonathan Edwards, a message entitled, The Excellency of Christ.
Edwards was also a guest preacher for Grace last Christmas when we heard his now famous message, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. Although Edwards may be best known for that sermon, the dominate theme of his preaching was the beauty and sufficiency of Jesus Christ.
No doubt, one of the most Christ-exalting sermons I've ever read is the one Grace will receive on December 20 of this year, Lord willing. It fits perfectly with our journey through Hebrews, and is a fitting follow-up to last year's exhortation from Edwards concerning God's righteous judgments.
A couple weeks ago I began the challenging process of editing down the (more than 2 hour) sermon into about 45 minutes of content (what do you cut?).
Consider Reading it Ahead of Time
My main reason for mentioning all of this in mid-October is in hopes of encouraging you to find and read this remarkable sermon sometime before December 20. You'll be glad you did!
