Lottie Moon Offering | Tomorrow Thru December
No one does missions perfectly. But that's no excuse to refrain from supporting the work of those who are imperfectly making an attempt.
A Personal Challenge
Unless you can develop and execute a better plan between now and this Christmas to accomplish the following list, I want to strongly encourage you to pray about how sacrifically the Lord would have you support global missions through the Lottie Moon Christmas offering. Here's a sampling of where the funds will go (100% of the LM offering goes toward the work of cross-cultural missions)
- Support the livelihood and ministries of 5,500 missionaries serving Christ's cause around the world.
- Undergird the training necessary to get the missionaries to their respestive fields...including lodging, materials, shots, visas, meals, lights, etc., during the training process.
- Expand the awareness of the need for world-missionaries throughout the churches of the Southern Baptist Convention, and beyond.
- Develop facts-based strategization through careful research and risk-taking implementation of a cross-cultural evangelism plan throughout the world, especially among those who've yet to hear that there is a God, and that He has sent His Son for our salvation.
If you can pull that off in the next 5 weeks, go for it. If not, would you consider supporting the work of those who are trying? I hope so.
Giving
- Grace Church will be promoting and accepting contributions to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering beginning tomorrow and lasting through the year. Get involved!
- For all gifts to the Lottie Moon Offering use the special envelops on the resource table.
Praying
- Starting tomorrow morning, there will be prayer guides for the world's unreached peoples. Next week is the national week of prayer for these peoples. Let's join the army of intercessors!
Going
- If you sense a stirring toward cross-cultural missions work, let your elders know! If not, we'd be happy to encourage you to pray about it :). Seriously. Is there any good reason the Mormons should expect a two-year mission from their adherants, and we who have the truth should expect anything less? Let's go!
Lottie Moon
If you don't know about this missionary to China in whose honor the IMB's annual offering is named, you're robbing yourself of a blessing. Click the link and meet her!
