Worship Preparation | The Excellency of Christ

REVELATION 5:5-6
"And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth."
As our annual Christmas gift from church history, this Sunday Grace will be hearing from a preacher from yesteryear.
As was the case last Christmas, we again will receive instruction from God's Word from the pulpit of Jonathan Edwards (last year was 'Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God' -- yes, for Christmas).
I've been preparing to preach Edwards' exaltation of Jesus, The Excellency of Christ, this coming Sunday. Of ones I've encountered, this is definitely my favorite Edwards sermon. And since it's Puritan-esque in form, we'll be providing listening guides for the congregation (download).
If you have a chance, I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the outline before Sunday. Believe it or not, the outline you see has been significantly abbreviated, and the wording has been simplified!
See you Sunday, Lord willing, John 3:30
