Heart-Cry for Revival | Pray for those who will gather tomorrow by Jordan

Tomorrow another Christian event will happen. What will be the effect 100 years from now? A revived people of God? I pray so.

In our day of churchy program-driven fluff, I found the Tennessee Baptist Convention's e-invitation for "Heart-Cry for Revival" very refreshing!

Would you to pray with me that God would exceed everyone's greatest expectations for this event, and that He would truly "rend the heavens and come down" in every church and city represented (Isaiah 64:1)! Oh for a nation-sweeping, next-generation-impacting breath of God's Spirit to blow across our land!

I don't know any of the sponsoring pastors, but I'm encouraged by their stated intentions for wanting to come together under the theme of needing revival.

Here's what the sponsoring pastors had to say:

"My vision for Heart Cry for Revival is the awaking of a soul to Christ after having fallen asleep within the apathy of carnal indulgence. My cry to God is that the truth of who God is and how he can transform the heart of a person will move across around land. That brokenness will come as we see God for who He is and what He can do in our life. Heart Cry results in that the Father's will maybe perfected by Christ's work bringing each of His children into the image of His Son Jesus Christ." Eric Stitts, Senior Pastor, Bayside Baptist Church, Harrison, TN
"In order for revival to happen we must step off the altar of our heart and submit to God's rule and reign for our life. Revival happens when the people of God are convicted by the Spirit of God through hearing the Word of God and turn their hearts back to God." Psalm 51:10-12. Robby Gallaty, Senior Pastor, Brainerd Baptist Church, Chattanooga, TN
"The church in America desperately needs revival; we have been seduced by materialism, blinded by self-centeredness, and squeezed into the mold of our culture instead of rising above it with a Christ-centered, God-glorifying faith." Jamie Work, Senior Pastor, Candies Creek Baptist Church, Cleveland, TN
"My prayer for our Heart Cry emphasis is that we will experience brokenness over our sin and a great hunger and thirst for righteousness as a result of the presence of our Holy God upon our lives." Jim Gibson, Co- Pastor, First Baptist Church, Cleveland, TN
"It is my hope and prayer that God would pour out His Spirit in a fresh and powerful way to impact our churches and region with a call to repentance and following after Him." Allan Lockerman. Co-Pastor, First Baptist Church, Cleveland, TN
"My prayer for the Heart Cry for Revival is that the hearts of His people are moved in such a way that the results resonate around the world and for generations to come." Paul Davis Executive Pastor, Westwood Baptist Church, Cleveland, TN
