How To Use Grace's Suggested Resources

Start here

The best way to take advantage of these suggested resources is to find a tab (to the left of this window) that best correlates to what you should be considering at this stage in your life.

Scan through our listings in a section, and identify a resource or two that seems like it would profit you the most. Buy the book and read it with a willing heart to be taught.

As you delve into these sources may God deepen your desire to glorify Him by treasuring Jesus Christ and speading His eternal joy!

Why are these sources listed, but not for sale?

Grace is a "portable church." Meaning, we don't own our meeting facility so we set-up and tear-down each week in rented space for our corporate meetings.

Although we strongly desire to have a bookstall set up each week with resources for purchase, at this time we feel that it would not be the best use of our energies on Sunday's.

Added to that, many people are web-savvy enough to find better deals on the internet for these same books than the discounted prices Grace would like to make them available for through our bookstall.

The resources we've listed have been read by our elders, and are happily commended to you for your progress and joy in your faith in Christ.

If you have a question about a resource, or would like to see a category that is not listed here, let us know. We hope you are edified by the things you find and use from these listings.

Systematic Theology

Systematic Theology

Big books sometimes seem daunting. However, when you view them as made up of many small books, they aren't so big anymore, they're more easily storable! There are a variety of excellent Systematic Theology books available to the church today. Some are bigger than others, but each seeks to take the major themes of the Bible and explain what the themes means (i.e., salvation, God, etc.).

Such reading is important for any serious student of the Bible. We would recommend the following with joy:

  • Charles Hodge, 3 Vols.
  • Wayne Grudem
  • Robert Culver

What is a Healthy Church?

What is a Healthy Church?

This book looks at nine features that promote the health of a local church. At Grace, we've used this book to come up with our "10 Essentials of Church Health." (We combined two from the book, and added two more :). We talk through these ten essentials in our pre-membership seminar, Foundations of Grace.

You can stay tuned to our calendar to find information about our upcoming seminars.

What is Biblical Preaching?

What is Biblical Preaching?

The health of a church will rise and fall with its preaching. We need to hear from God. This tiny resource helps us see that true health is not to be measured in numbers or other "results," but by whether or not His truth is faithfully proclaimed. Everyone who preaches or teaches God's Word should take 30 minutes and read this fantastic resource.

The Life of God in The Soul of Man

The Life of God in The Soul of Man

Have you wondered how to know if you or someone else is a true Christian? The Puritan, Henry Scougal, wondered the same thing.

After searching the Scriptures, Scougal realized the Scriptures teach that God lives inside of the true believer as the distinguishing mark of His salvation.

The Great Awakening preacher, George Whitefiled, attributes his own conversion to Christ as a result of reading this book. It is one of the most highly recommended books in our resource section. Read it. You will be happy you did.

Each summer groups of Grace Church folks gather together for "the fellowship of the burning heart." These groups exists to stir our affections to live more devotedly for the glory of God by treasuring Jesus and commending Him to others. We hope you will consider joining a "burning heart" group this summer!

Wasted Faith

Wasted Faith

In Matthew 7, Jesus said "Many" will wrongly presume that He is their Lord. What a sobering thought. No one wants to be duped about anything. This is especially true about eternal matters. Jim Elliff's loaded but quick-read, Wasted Faith, helps answer how we can be sure our faith is not "wasted."
