Sunday Morning

Christ-centered Worship

Grace Church’s Sunday gatherings exist to worship the Lord Jesus Christ. In the praying, singing, preaching and partaking of the Lord’s Supper, we aim for Jesus to be the center of our services. The main elements of our services are:

CORPORATE PRAYING

Following a word of gospel welcome, one of our pastors will guide the congregation into a season of corporate praying. As the praying is corporate, we want to “catch others up” in our prayer by praying “we” “us” “our” prayers, rather than personal praying. We also encourage those who voice a prayer to focus on one particular aspect of God’s praise or make a specific petition so that many others can also voice prayers.

As people are willing to pray aloud, we ask them to stand and wait until a microphone arrives so that the congregation can hear and add our “Amen” of prayerful agreement.

CONGREGATIONAL PRAISES

Our singing, praying, and Scripture reading aim to focus on the truth of Scripture and wonder of the gospel. We encourage you to lift your voice in praise to God during the singing. Our elders seek to select songs in light of the day’s sermon text that draw upon the all-sufficiency of Jesus for our great need.

CHRIST-CENTERED PREACHING

The focus of our preaching is the Person and gospel-labors of Jesus of Nazareth. “We proclaim Him” (Col. 1:28). In our preaching ministry, we are unashamedly glad to “know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Cor. 2:2).

CHRIST-EXALTING PARTAKING

The weekly “invitation” at Grace Church is a response to Jesus. Following the sermon, the congregation is invited to respond to Jesus in one of two ways. Either remaining seated in prayerful meditation on the sermon or partaking in the Lord’s Supper.

We believe the Supper is for baptized believers who are forsaking all known sin, and belong to a local church that preaches the exact same gospel we proclaim. If that describes you, we encourage you to partake with us. No one takes alone at Grace because the bread and the cup represent Christ’s gospel victory that achieved our communion with God and one another.

OUR MONTHLY SUNDAY MORNING SCHEDULE

SEEING CHRIST SUNDAY’S — FIRST THREE SUNDAYS OF EVERY MONTH

During the service we invite children 6th grade and younger to the front of the service for our Tasting the Truth catechism introduction. These brief lessons seek to point our children to the truth of God’s Word and His gospel love, and are accompanied by a monthly memory verse.

SAVORING CHRIST SUNDAY’S — FOURTH SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH

During the first half of the service (~10-10:45am), children 6th grade and younger are offered a GraceKids class where they review the previous three weeks of catechisms and the monthly memory verse.
