Few decisions are as vital to one's spiritual growth and ministry as church membership.
The New Testament demonstrates that local churches practiced meaningful church membership (cf. Hebrews 13:7, 17, 24; 10:25; Matthew 18:15-17; 1 Corinthians 5:12-13; 12:12-31; Acts 20:28; Romans 12:3-21).
There are three stages to pursuing membership in Grace Church:
1) Meet
Completing a Membership Introduction Form allows you to share how God has worked in your life. Submitting this form is the way to signal to our pastors that you are ready to talk about pursuing church membership. Forms are available online or at our Sunday welcome table.
* This form can be submitted first, or after stage two.
2) Know
This stage involves getting to know one another better than pen and paper are capable. In this stage we introduce you to Grace Church and visit with you personally.
Our introduction to you comes through a small group: Foundations of Grace. This group lays out our beliefs, leadership structure, and ministry vision.
The other part of this stage is an in-home Share & Care talk with a couple of our elders. This conversation allows our pastors to learn how God has been at work in your life, and how to seek to care for your soul.
3) Belong
Upon recommendation to the congregation from our elders, candidates for membership are invited to publicly affirm the church's Member Affirmation of Faith & Church Covenant. The congregation then collectively affirms the Lord's will for adding new members to the flock.
